Good Morning -
You will be applying your knowledge of transformations by completing one of the following two options. Regardless of which you choose, in order to be successful you need to be able to identify the coordinates of points in both the pre-image and image in order to successfully identify what is happening.

Assignment Choices:

Choice 1) Translation Worksheet (36 points) - For this worksheet, you will need to graph both the pre-image and image if it is not shown. BE SURE YOU LABEL POINTS!For each pre-image and image, you will need to also write the coordinates of each point.

OR

Choice 2) Reflection AND Transformation Worksheets (32 points) - For each of these sheets, you need to match the graph depicting the pre-image and image with one of the transformations that are identified in each label. Write the color depicted on the label on the appropriate graph.

You will need to either use the Kami app on your chromebook or download and send in as attachment or a picture. If you are submitting a picture, then be sure that it is clear and easily readable.

Each of these assignments is worth and additional 4 points for submitting on time (end of day on Sunday, May 17th).

Today you will be completing your end of the year reflection (PLUS/DELTA).

Using the google form, I want you to identify one thing you are especially proud of with respect to math. What did you do well? (PLUS) Then I want you to reflect on the year in math and identify what you wish you could do differently or do better. What will you work on for net year? (DELTA).

Each response is worth 5 points. There is no right or wrong answer. However, if you state something like "I don't know", "Nothing", "No idea", etc then you will receive zero points for that response. Completing the reflection on time is worth 2 points.

This is a PROJECT grade - so be sure to complete and take seriously.

The additional survey is an optional one. I would like you to identify what you think I did well (PLUS) and what I can either change or do better for next year (DELTA). Things to keep in mind when you take the test:

2) You need to use your chromebook
3) Close other browser windows and tabs. You will not be able to access other sites while logged on to test.
4) Be sure you have a calculator! You will NOT be able to access one though your computer.
5) You may only open and attempt test one time, so be sure that your give yourself plenty of time. If you open the test more than one time, the highest grade you can receive will be a 50% (Yes, that is an F).

Please remember that this is a TEST, so it is weighed more heavily than the classwork assignment you have been completing.

Your teacher holds the magic vaccine but cannot open the locked box without the proper combination. Solve the problems to find the combination!!

You will be completing this breakout. There are 3 problems that will need to be solved. Each time you solve a problem, you will get one digit of the combination code. Once you have all three digits, complete and submit the Break Out Code form.

Some points to remember when completing the assignment....
1) DO NOT use 3.14 for pi. Use the 'pi' symbol of your calculator.
2) Be careful with your rounding! It may affect your the answer you put for the code.
3) You will not know what the answer is until you submit in google forms.

Happy Monday!

Attached you will find directions for a project you will be completing applying the Pythagorean Theorem. This project is worth 30 points. It is the only assignment you will have this week. I have scheduled class office hours on Tuesday and Thursday this week from 10:00-10:45 . The meeting code and password will be available in the google classroom on the day of the scheduled meeting. Attendance is optional. I will be answering questions and providing assistance as needed during this time.

Although you are given over a week to complete the project, you can turn in early if you like. Remember that I am available via Zoom on Tuesday and Thursday. If you have questions, you can always email me at [email protected]. Please do not send me a message in the lesson comments -- I may not see and be able to respond in a timely manner.

"Fencing Your Property" - You will have 6 tasks to competing this project:
1) Plot the placement of each tree correctly on the coordinate plane. Each point (or tree) will be plotted in relation to your house, this is located at the origin (0,0). You will need to number each of the 5 points (trees) and list the coordinates. (worth 5 points)

2) Once each point is plotted, you will need to connect the points using a straight edge, creating a 5-sided polygon around your house. (worth 5 points)

3) Use the Pythagorean Theorem to find the Length of each side of your property. Round your answer to the nearest hundredth, if necessary. (It is necessary unless your answer is a whole number!) (10 points - answer and showing work).

4) Find the perimeter of your property (add up all the hypotenuses). (2 points - answer and showing work)

5) Two companies are able to complete the job of fencing your yard. Determine the cost of fencing your property for both companies ( 4 points )

6) Figure out which company offers the better deal. Then calculate total cost of installing fence (add in the sales tax). ( 3 points)

You receive 1 point because you are all so amazing!
