Dear Panther Families:

 
I am excited to be back at Colonel Smith and look forward to continuing on with a successful school year as your Principal. Our mission is to inspire all students to reach beyond their potential by providing a rigorous student-centered learning environment that fosters academic excellence, respect, responsibility, and creativity.
 
Working together as a team consisting of students, parents, staff, and the community we maintain an atmosphere of excellence. We encourage you to be an active participant at Colonel Smith, parent involvement is the key to our success. Various opportunities include but are not limited to classroom volunteer, member of the PTO, and special event participation. You are welcome to visit classrooms and join your child(ren) for lunch or other classroom activities. We would love to see you! Our doors are always open.

 

My name is Sandy Larson, the Principal at Colonel Smith. It is an honor to be a part of the CSMS family. As Principal, I aim to inspire all educators, students, parents, and community members to find the joy in learning. I believe we are all lifelong learners with different learning styles. I believe each student is capable of learning. Each student is unique who needs a safe, caring, and challenging environment to grow intellectually, physically, emotionally, and socially. We must educate the “whole child” so that each student can develop a love for learning, respect for self and others, and an enthusiasm for life that will lead to success.
