Here are your choices this week:
1) Explore the Google Earth app. Go under the water!
2) Legends of Learning- I have 5 different activities based on fossils. Choose based on your interest
3) Alien Visitor worksheet- Top 10 things that make Earth unique. You can type on the document and each student has a copy.

7th Grade 5th Hour
Last week students did a Brain Pop video on the Engineer Design Process.
These are connected assignments. Students can choose 1.
1) Write this up in paragraph format:
How could you invent something that would make life easier for people? What would you invent and why? Design your invention, describing how it would work.
Consider an important event in history that you find interesting or meaningful. In what ways did technology, climate, or another area of science play a role in this event? Think about the event as a system: how did science and engineering contribute to the event? How did the event change the path for science and/or engineering?
2) Log into Quizzis- Take the Quiz on the Engineer Design Process. Review Engineer Design Process picture before taking the Quizzes. Complete until you get them all correct. The quiz is also assigned in Google Classroom. The link is live until noon on April 14th.
3) Using household junk, create something. This is to demonstrate the Engineer Design Process. Start with a problem, example- I broke my mirror mount on my bike. How can I create a new mount? Criteria-no spending money. Item must have a use. Take a picture and tell me what it is and what it is supposed to do.
The goal is upcycling.

Please make sure you have done last week's assignment too.
Your assignment is on BrainPop. Log in with Google Classroom. The assignment is there with a graded quiz and an optional game. In my class, you can always redo quizzes! ( Good, Better, Best! Never let is rest, until your good is better and your better is your best!)
If you are not in Google Classroom as of 8:00 am on Monday morning, the assignment will not show. You will need to take a screen shot of your quiz and email it to me or post it on this assignment page. [email protected] or [email protected]
Have a great day! Be Graemazing!

Welcome to STEM! This is not the ideal 1st day of class but this is the actual assignment that you would have had.
Please open a Google Document and introduce yourself. In this class, we use complete sentences. I don't grade spelling.
Please tell me three things about yourself and add a photo of you. Please tell me more than you eat, sleep and play video games. It is a private document. It will not be shared.
I am here to help you. Please contact me. You are not alone.
I can't wait to meet you in person.
